San Diego Residents

Toddler reads to “Baby Ga,” her lifesize (and somewhat creepy) newborn baby doll. We can only hope she’s this good with her real-life baby brother

We’ve been here in San Diego for almost a month.  It’s been a whirlwind of unpacking, preparing for Baby Boy, my husband settling into his new job, and, a pair of back-to-back “Welcome to San Diego” severe colds with fever for Toddler and I.  Sickness aside, it’s fun to return to a place I lived when I was in my mid-20s and in the Navy. With a toddler in tow, I’m exploring it in a whole new way now! We’ve been to the zoo eight times already.

The baby will be born in three to five weeks, and we are about to re-enter the world of sleep deprivation as we discover firsthand what is meant by the saying, “Two are more than twice the work of one.” In the meantime, there are still lots of things to finish up and get ready…like deciding on a name.  Picking a name for a real child is so much more daunting and not as fun as having the free creative rein of picking character names!
